Natural Horsemanship Training
I started working on my horse training skills when I got my spirited Quarab. She was fast so I had to learn how to control that and be safe. She was scared so learned to gain her trust, especially when it came trailer loading. Natural horsemanship books gave me a place to start when working with her challenging behaviors. Please read any horse training book by Mark Rashid if you are interested. You wont regret it.

Re-training Older Horses
Autumn taught me persistance. It seemed like nothing magically worked, so I had to just keep trying different things.
After learning to confidently ride her, I had the skills I needed to help exercise and re-train other horses.
After teaching Autumn how to load into a horse trailer, I am now able to assist other people in loading their hard-to-load horses.

Starting Young Horses
My internship with Gable Horsemanship taught me the John Lyons methods of starting a young horse under saddle. I still use those skills when I'm starting and re-training horses.

I've worked with a variety of breeds and personalities. I start with ground work, then tack and desensitizing, riding, etc. I teach my horses how to trailer out to nearby shows and trail rides.

I always try to keep learning. I take my horse to cow working clinics so that we can learn that skill together. I was taught how to hook up a cart and harness, and have taught our pony how to be more versatile by learning that skill. I watch horse training competitions and I'm always trying to add more ideas to my skill set.
